本集精介 「天堂鳥」為DECCA唱片公司旗下的品牌之一，1932年於巴黎成立，當初為一個出版公司，名為「Editions de L’Oiseau-Lyre」，其唱片部門於1970年被DECCA收購。1973年由霍格伍德（Christopher Hogwood）指揮古樂學會樂團錄製了阿任（Arne）的八首序曲，開啟了往後名為「選集」（Florilegium）的一系列精彩錄音。
「天堂鳥」唱片製作了一系列高水準的古樂作品，成為古典樂壇之清流，同時亦以精緻高雅的風格名聞於世。不僅曲目精采、演出考究，錄音亦秉持DECCA一貫細膩、透明的高超質感，絕對值得樂迷有計劃地收藏。旗下音樂家包括：霍格伍德指揮古樂學會樂團、皮凱特（Philip Pickett）指揮新倫敦合奏團、賀賽（Christophe Rousset）指揮泰隆抒情巴洛克管弦樂團，以及聲樂家科克比（Emma Kirkby）、鮑曼（James Bowman）、奧潔（Arleen Auger）、邦妮（Barbara Bonney）等實力堅強的名家，一一重現巴洛克及古代音樂作品的精彩原貌。

專輯為限量發行，精緻的包裝內含200頁的解說冊，簡介作品之歷史與「天堂鳥」品牌。套中所有個別專輯均保留原始發行時的封面，其中還包含六張首度以CD格式發行的錄音：佩魯賈的世俗作品（CD12）、德斯・普雷斯的《三聲部世俗音樂》全集（CD16）、伊薩克的《歌謠》（CD17）、特羅波其諾的《夢囈》（Frottole）（CD18）、伯爾德《宮廷音樂》（CD35），以及十七世紀英國作曲家威廉．勞斯的《組曲》（CD44）。
