緊接著劃時代的3000套限量版大全集之後，DECCA再推出四套盒裝之布烈頓作品全集，產品內容分別為「舞台與電影配樂」、「聲樂作品」、「歌劇作品」、「管弦樂與器樂作品」。涵蓋EMI、維京古典（Virgin Classics）、Naxos和華納（Warner）等18 家唱片公司版權所有的錄音，堪稱世紀大作。每一套都附有Andrew Huth詳盡的解說、完整的曲目表及錄音訊息。布烈頓不但親自指揮，更參與錄音工作。
布烈頓（Benjamin Britten, 1913-1976）先鋒性的作品如《青少年管弦樂入門》及根據兒時創作而寫的《簡易交響曲》，在在讓世人看到作曲家如何連結、教育廣大的聽眾。他創作的作品範圍之廣、產量之豐實在驚人。小學畢業時，他已作了四十首以上的作品。而1937年他的事業才剛起步不久，其《鋼琴協奏曲》就得以在著名的遙逍音樂會上演出。
布烈頓親自指揮倫敦交響樂團的《青少年管弦樂入門》曾獲日本唱片藝術挖掘生冷曲目的「究極100」（Next 100）最高分評價；寫於1939年的《小提琴協奏曲》是布烈頓早期作品，音樂充滿批判，語法現代，技巧難度高，雖然並不討喜，藝術性卻不容置疑。
《C大調大提琴奏鳴曲》是為了紀念與大提琴家羅斯托波維奇之情誼所作；而完成於1963年的《大提琴交響曲》，是在著名的《戰爭安魂曲》問世後的創作，也同樣獻給羅斯托波維奇，並由他隔年在莫斯科首演，此後成為二十世紀知名的大提琴協奏作品。此曲是貨真價實的交響曲，其主題的連貫性和第一樂章採用奏鳴曲式創作的手法，都遵循傳統。大提琴雖然在曲中擁有超技的展現，但樂團的地位卻不只是伴奏，而是像交響曲一樣的完整。此曲的終樂章以帕薩卡格利亞（Passacaglia）曲式寫成，主題則來自第三樂章，隨後發展成六段變奏。
